Use these unique little ideas to make your wedding day truly yours!

  1. Take some inspiration from Kate and Will's spectacular Royal Wedding and pop in some touches that really say something unique about your personalities. Some ideas could be your car, bouquet, outfits – anything that will make your guests say ‘that is so them’.

  2. All your wedding stationery can be unique – whether it’s with a photo of you and the person you’re writing to, or by attaching trinkets that are symbolic of you and your h2b. This will mean more to your guests than a standard save the date or place card.

  3. unique-wedding-10-ideas-to-make-your-wedding-personalisedFor something a little unique and a break in tradition, why not save the confetti throwing moment until the end of the evening and let guests shower you with petals during the last dance? It’s a great way to end a great day and cheaper than fireworks if budgets don’t allow. If your photographer is around that late, it would look fab in photos, too.

  4. Add some romance and make the most of warm summer evenings by creating an outside seating area lit with lots of lanterns and candles. This is a fabulous way to make your wedding truly unique and give it that extra special touch.

  5. If you’ve got a photo printer, bring it along! You could ask a trusty usher or bridesmaid to print a photo from the day for each guest to take with them as they leave. This is a fab favour that is unique and gives your friends and family an instant memory.

  6. For unique wedding speeches with a twist, ask that each speaker gets introduced by someone different. Your Grandad could introduce your Dad for example and this way more people get to be a part of the day and say a little something – a great way to give extra guests an important role in the proceedings.

  7. Put some little goody packs in the hotel rooms for key guests to thank them for their help. You can pop in a mini bottle of bubbly, a box of chocolates and a note from you both in a cute little hamper basket. Ask the hotel to place the gifts in the rooms when the guests are partying. A fab finishing touch that shows them how much they mean to you both.

  8. If the first dance is important to you and you want to make a real occasion of it, why not add some candlelight for a really romantic touch? Light lots of tea lights and lanterns and dim the lights, then just let yourself get lost in the atmosphere and moment. Also, routine first dances are becoming very popular where you and your h2b can learn the moves from famous films and music videos and perform them as your first dance. Dirty Dancing and Thriller are particular favourites!

  9. If you don’t want guests to worry about transport, you could hire a coach or mini bus to the wedding. This takes the stress out of choosing a designated driver, allowing all your guests to join in the fun. The only thing to remember is to ask guests to book a seat in their RSVP, or you could end up with a rather costly half-empty coach.

  10. Make sure your evening party includes a section of music for the younger and older guests – start off with tunes for the little ones and then, when they go to bed, bring out the rock anthems and finish with songs to sway to. Your wedding reception won’t be the same without your Grandparents on the dancefloor.
