So you're planning for the big day and you're finally getting around to thinking of some ideas for the one thing that matters, the dress. We've got a handy A-Z guide on helping you find your dream wedding dress.

A is for Advance

Your dream wedding dress is usually made to order, so it’s vital that you choose yours well in advance of the big day. Allow 12 months for a designer gown and 6 months for a dress from a manufacturer.

B is for Benjamin Roberts

Offering top-quality dresses at great prices, the award-winning Benjamin Roberts team create stunning collections with flattering shapes, elegant details and construction to fit sizes 8-30.

C is for Chiffon

If you’re getting married abroad somewhere hot, then heavy satins and taffetas will probably be too much for you. Soft and lightweight chiffon dresses will keep you cool and float beautifully on a sandy beach.

D is for Details

It’s the little things that make a dress right for you. Real bride Laura Calverley says: “Originally I wanted colour, straps and detail without fuss, but I fell in love with a dress that was ivory and strapless, with amazing beadwork and silver embroidery! It’s dress D3060 by Eternity Bridal Try on lots of styles, because what you think you don’t want might just be the dress for you!”

E is for Experience

Choosing your dress is a once-in-a-lifetime decision, so take advice from people with experience. Rob at Creatiques says: “Good customer service is so important – a reputable shop should give you good, honest advice rather than just selling you a gown.”

F is for Family and Friends

Shopping for your dream dress with your nearest and dearest should be a great experience. Claire Wilkinson advises: “Take your Mum and best friend – it’s always good to have two opinions (whether they agree or not!) and if anyone will give you an honest opinion, it will be those two.”the-a-z-on-finding-your-dream-wedding-dress-part-1

I is for Insurance

K is for Knickers

Nice underwear will make a difference to how you feel when you’re trying on your dream wedding dress. Wedding planner, Julie Tooby says: “When trying on gowns, wear supportive underwear and do your hair and make-up. This will give you an idea on how the whole look will come together on the day.”
