Following their traditional country wedding, Sky News correspondents Lisa and Tom chose an unusual, dual-based honeymoon destination.

Where?

We went to Peru (Lima, Arequipa, Colca Canyon and Lake Titicaca

Why?

We chose Peru because we’ve always been interested in history and particularly the Incas. We’re the type of couple who would get bored being on a beach for three weeks.

We did want some kind of beach destination o we chose the Galapagos Islands - three hours flight from the mainland and home to of the most extraordinary wildlife.

What did you do?

We explored Inca ruins, went whitewater rafting, took an old - fashioned train journey between Puno and Cuzco, a boat trip on Lake Titicaca, and many wildlife excursions.

Most romantic moment?

Snorkelling together, hand in hand, as penguins and sea lions swam around us.

It’s great for honeymooners because…

You get to see some of the most amazing sights on the planet and you don't see many other honeymoons!
