50s style short wedding dresses. What would make you choose one? Rachel Morgan, Editor of Wedding Ideas magazine talks about why brides go the short and sweet route, rather than the long way round.
- “If you’ve got gorgeous legs, why not show them off! Your wedding day is all about being confident and showing yourself at your very best.”
- “Short dresses are perfect for weddings abroad. You can marry on the beach without getting your dress dirty or trailing in the water.”
- “The stand out factor! Your wedding should reflect you and your tastes, and if you love short dresses, go for it!”
Here at Wedding Ideas magazine we love real brides. Over the years we’ve seen lots of fab short wedding dresses from our real weddings, from current to 50s style’s. Here’s some pictures of our favourite tea length, knee length and mini length wedding dresses from our real weddings.
Jenna – issue 105
“I found my wedding dress on the internet, through Honeypie boutique. I instantly loved their Audrey dress – the 50s silhouette and the fact you could see my incredible Irregular Choice shoes was just perfect, exactly what I wanted,” she adds.
For the final elegant touch, Jenna added an authentic cream vanity case and nude seamed tights.
Sarah – issue 102
“After trying on approximately 30 dresses, and not feeling happy, I decided to have a chat with a local dress designer, Kate Garcia about the possibility of having one made for me,” explains Sarah.
“We came to an idea that I loved – a short dress!” adds Sarah. The final design included a shift-style bodice with an embroidered and embellished waistband and a skirt that ruffled as Sarah walked. Perfect for dancing the night away!
Amy – issue 103
“I bought my lovely dress from the Monsoon wedding collection,” recalls Amy. “It took me a while to decide on a gown, but I knew that we wanted a low-key wedding, with a simple and casual feel, so I went for a short, shift dress with lots of detailing on the front,” she add.
